Mother Dear Mother

© Abby Ryan

Chaos, we’re all going insane . . .

As a mother you were neat,

You taught me how to be bold,

Even in defeat

As a Queen you held your ground,

I was young then,

But you always seemed to know when I needed you around.

Then they came,

Like a torch in the night,

Those damn Light,

They fought us just for spite.

I told you to go,

 To hide form them.

You listened,

Though, I was barely older than ten.

Mother, they found you. . .

It was all my fault.

I should never have sent brother,

Now he is blamed with the assault.

I can’t even tell him, my father the king.

If he knew would he accept me?

I think not,

Instead he would shun me

Like he shunned brother . . .

Like he should shun me

Oh, mother, I scream,

 I scream in agony

It is because of me they found you,

It’s all because of me

Now, now it is chaos,

Were all going insane.
