I held you in my arms…
The tears rolled down my face,
You remained strong,
Even though you were dying in that place…
I prayed that you would make it through,
But with every soundless word I said
I could not deny the truth.
What could I say…?
At the time where needed most,
Words just faded away…
Though the pain was growing strong,
You smiled, weakly,
And told me to live on…
Slowly reaching out,
You gave me your greatest treasure,
And told me to live on
For I was your greatest pleasure
No longer will you be there to guide me,
No longer their to stop me from crying,
Slowly,
Yet swiftly,
your blood poured from your veins,
Your face when white
And your eyes went glazed
There you lay in my arms all just the same,
But now you are gone and my weeping remains…
